Car of 2008 year of manufacture, factory version without the particulate filter (DPF). Engine control unit Bosch EDC16C31. Reading of the original program and recording of the tuning-file is made without the immediate opening of the engine control unit (ECU).
Measurement of the power output with the factory parameters confirmed the perfect technical condition of the car. Real maximal power output was 188.2 h.p. at 4270rpm and the maximal engine torque was 414 Nm at 2760 Nm against the values claimed by manufacturer of 185 h.p. and 400 Nm. This minimal difference in parameters is well explicable by the impact of many factors (environmental conditions, time interval between measurements, temperature of the injected air etc.) because the factory parameters were measured at the test engine stand. Measurement was taken at the 4th gear with the accelerator pedal fully stepped.
At the drain measurement chart you can see the curves of engine toque (red line), engine power output (black line), and power output at wheels (blue line).
Upon recording of the modified file into the engine control block we took new measurements. Results were 215 h.p. at 4306 rpm and 479 Nm at 2239 rpm. You can see the comparative results of the measurements before and after Chip tuning at the chart below.
It should be noted that the measurements were taken with the vehicle stability system and the climate control system switched off. In everyday operations with the climate control system switched-on the power output is 205-210 h.p., the engine torque - 465-470 Nm.
